Pain Management at Synergy

Finding a treatment for pain can be a difficult and confusing world to navigate, especially when there are several fads and gimmicky gadgets out there that promotehave false claims. Acupuncture has been clinically proven to be a drug free, noninvasive and an intrinsic way to approach pain management.

Acupuncture treats pain by stimulating the release of endorphins and natural analgesics within the body which interrupt pain signals and reduce inflammation, guiding the body to homeostasis. Effective for both chronic and acute pain alike, acupuncture is incorporated into all pain management treatments.

Cupping therapy is an effective remedy for pain management. It’s primary mechanisms, vacuum and negative pressure, allow the cups to penetrate through layers of soft tissue to target specific muscles, joints and fascial networks. Pulling these tissues away from the body greatly reduces tension and pain.

Dry-needling is particularly effective as a treatment in pain management due to it’s ability to instantaneously release trigger points or taut bands of muscle and fascia.

Pain is essentially a signal from the brain that travels through the central and peripheral nervous systems. Electro-acupuncture is an extremely useful modality that can be used to restore function to a nervous system that is signaling pain, both acute and chronic. The addition of an electric current brings further attention from the brain to focus on the trouble area, improving circulation and reducing pain.

IASTM can be used to target and isolate sources of acute and chronic pain. It reduces inflammation, improves circulation and restores proper function within the body, making it a valuable technique in the management of pain.

Percussion therapy can be used to target specific muscle groups that are tensed up due to stress and anxiety. It is also normal for physical pain to further amplify stress, anxiety and depression. By addressing the physical element of stress, your body can then prioritize your mental health.
